Wunda Chair: A Pilates Equipment Designed for Strength and Style

Enhancing Pilates Workouts with the Wunda Chair

Pilates, a method of exercise that focuses on core strength and overall well-being, has been revolutionized with the introduction of the Wunda Chair. Designed by Ceylan Ucgun, this innovative piece of Pilates equipment offers a unique and effective workout experience.

The Wunda Chair was inspired by the need for a supporting and finely tuned equipment that complements the meticulous and detailed Pilates method. With its well-calculated resistance options, this chair is designed to improve posture, balance, and flexibility, providing exercisers with a comprehensive workout.

One of the key strengths of the Wunda Chair is its adjustability. With fine-tuning capabilities, users can customize their workout to suit their individual needs and fitness levels. The chair is also crafted with functional angles and smooth transitions, ensuring a comfortable and seamless exercise experience.

Designed to be compact, the Wunda Chair can easily fit into studios, homes, and spas, making it accessible for daily Pilates workouts. Its sleek and modern design adds a touch of style to any space, while its durable materials ensure long-lasting performance.

The Wunda Chair is made using a combination of high-quality materials. The wood outer frame is constructed with plywood layered with marine glue and covered with a special indoor non-breathing anti-toxic formula lacquer. Aluminum parts are made from 7075 grade aluminum and undergo anodization for a smooth touch. The handles are crafted with elastomers for a comfortable grip, while the foot bars feature polyurethane molded shapes for a non-slip and easy-to-clean surface. The seat is upholstered with antibacterial and non-toxic vinyl, ensuring a hygienic and comfortable sitting surface.

Smooth transitions between resistance settings, a rounded ergonomic split pedal for comfort and a broad range of motion, and removable handles with four locking positions are just a few of the features that make the Wunda Chair a standout piece of Pilates equipment. It is also prepared to support auxiliary pieces for an enhanced repertoire of exercises.

The development of the Wunda Chair began in Istanbul in 2014, with the constant contribution of Mr. Rael Isacowitz and Mr. Cengiz Han Ucgun as consultants. After 1.5 years of research and development, the first model was evaluated by renowned Pilates Master Mr. Rael Isacowitz. After six more months of adjustments, the Wunda Chair was ready for its global release in August 2015, with an opening party held at the Four Seasons Hotel at the Bosphorus in Istanbul.

The Wunda Chair project was driven by the realization that Pilates needed equipment that would cater to contemporary needs. The focus was on creating a seamless and efficient user experience, with minimal setup and transition time. The choice of materials was carefully researched to ensure warmth and comfort for users. The result is a Pilates equipment that welcomes and supports users throughout their workout.

The Wunda Chair has overcome creative, technical, and research challenges to offer a high-quality and sustainable piece of equipment that combines biomechanics with aesthetic integrity. Its innovative design has been recognized with the prestigious Iron A' Design Award in the Sporting Goods, Fitness, and Recreation Equipment Design category in 2019.

Experience the strength and style of the Wunda Chair, and elevate your Pilates workouts to new heights.
